I too would like some info on this. All the Q's above and are the HP gains pretty accurate? I dont want to spend $550 on this unless I'm going to get some sick HP out of it.

SRT is looking for power, not the best choice for gas saving. actually leave your engine alone if youre worried about gas mileage, the only way its going to go is down.

think of it like this. to make power, engine sparks fuel and air. there is a delicate balance between air and fuel that has to be maintained. by getting an intake like SRT you are introducing more air than "normal". Thus the computer has to compensate with more fuel to keep the ratio of fuel to air as "normal" as possible. Now theres more power, but then of course there goes your gas mileage.

SRT is very proficient at introducing air and modifies the air signal to the ECU. This means most likely youre not going to be satisfied with your gas mileage. I have an intake that doesnt modify air signal and exhaust riding on big HEAVY 19's. i get 10.75mpg.

srt intake is the best intake out there for the lexus. it has gotten a 10 hp/10 tq gains instantly on the dyno right after install!

after it has tuned in a bit, should be more gains.

Yeah all I need is my ECU wiring checked. I believe I have either a loose wire, bad soldering or maybe a wrong soldered wire. The car definitely has an electrical short and I cannot launch it from a dead stop. Steve, let me know what days and times are good for you and I will cruise up North.

Yes it is installed, but like I said, I think there could be a loose wire connection or bad soldering job.

Got my intake taken care of......as I suspected, a loose wire going to the factory ECU was the problem.....I'm able to launch from a dead stop now.....also had a new factory throttle body put on just to be safe.

Next step is to have my PI torque coverter installed which I have picked up already and the additional Perma Cool tranny cooler put on....then the real fun will begin.

Steve......do these plugs really make a difference?

I finally got my torque converter installed!!!

This is a must have!!!

No more delay or lag off the line and with the Vehicle Skid Control off, the tires are smoking and I'm rolling on 20's!

Next step is to get the TRD Limited Slip Differential upgrade.

Wow. That was a big step. Where did you get it from and who installed it?

Bought the TC directly from PI.

Had a friend install it for me at a local dealership. Send me a private message if you ever need an install technician.

Are you familiar with the TRD Limited Slip Differential kit? Our friends over at SRT recommended it to me. I would like to know if there is a serious improvement in performance.

TC is around $750 delivered directly from PI. Tranny Cooler is made by Perma Cool and is like $100. PI will tell you which TC you need. If you have a GS it is the Dragon model. Just call PI directly.

Also, I should mention, say goodbye to good gas mileage after the TC install. I have been driving around with a lead foot, but I mean its pretty ridiculous in Power Mode. I filled up yesterday and after getting home from work tonight I'm already at 1/2 a tank left and work is about 10 miles away. I can literally watch the guage get lower when I stomp on it. The great thing though is that the lag off the line is almost completely gone. I'm sure driving in Economy Mode will improve mileage but thought I would mention it here for others to consider.

I wonder if the TRD LSD kit will inmprove mileage or make it worse.

Steve, do you know anything about this kit?
