We sell it. Haven't heard any complaints.

How can you messup with a down pipe?

Stainless tubing with flanges on it for $140. Not much CAN go wrong.

All right, we put the down pipe and cat back system on and here is the run down.

We tried the setup on Dan's IS as well as mine, the main difference being, he has a bone stock IS, and I have a slightly modified IS with Unorthodox Pulley system, exhaust side cam gear, SRT intake, and valve body job.

We put the down pipe on his car first and noticed a slight improvement in acceleration off the line, though not extremely noticeable. There also seemed to be a bit more power at passing speeds. There was little to no sound difference. We then attached the cat back system and really did not notice too much difference performance wise, most was noticed with the down pipe. The sound, with the silencer, was slightly louder than the stock unit until the rpm's are really kicked in, it then has a mild but impressive deep tone that is extremely bearable if you are not into extremely loud exhausts... There is also a much more throaty growl at start-up, kind of impressive. We then took out the silencer and there was a major difference. The sound tripled, and seemed even deeper than it did with the silencer. Reminded me of the Greddy Evo sound. The sound inside the car with out the silencer was way way to loud for me, very rough and deep sounding with a terrible howl.

So then we put it on mine (I already had the Megan down pipe on). Huge difference. I have the Borla system on my vehicle now and when it was put on, there was a considerable and noticeable performance increase off the line and even more noticeable when passing ( I put the down pipe and exhaust on my car at the same time, I did not performance test in between). When the Borla system was put on I had already had the other modifications on the car. When we put the Megan cat back on it was without disappointment. The sound enhanced greatly with the silencer compared to being on Dan's IS but still bearable and very driveable. Without the silencer it was load as hell. I think the biggest thing that stunned me was that the performance was as good, if not a little better with the Megan on as it was with the Borla. I was extremely surprised seeing as it was about half the price. Without the silencer I did not notice a difference in power at all???.

As far as looks, there is a little less clearance than stock, not too bad though, the finish looks sweet, and the fit was great. Took about 30 minutes on a lift to complete the swap.

My thoughts... Down pipe was a nice increase for the money and belive that for $140 bucks, its well worth it, call Steve now!

As for the exhaust, I would not think twice about putting one on my car. It gave the performance that i look for, a sound I can live with inside the car, and a deep aggressive sound I desire outside of the car. One thing I will say is that my friend purchased this exhaust off of ebay and the seller promised gaskets and hardware with these units, but they were shipped with none. After calling the company, they gave us a B.S. line, first about the IS not having Exhaust gaskets icon_wink.gif Then telling us that we were to reuse the old gaskets icon_mad.gif and finally they would send us some, could take a week.

Hope this helps, any questions please ask.

ive never once heard of that.

I really dont think u should get sumthing unless you hear some positive comments about it or know someone that has it on their car. I highly recommend you going w. the XERD/TOYOMOTO setup. I say you go w. some XERD HEADERS / XERD RACEPIPE. Massive HP that you can actually feel and tell the difference. Also a whole catback system wouldnt be really that great if your cars N/A. Getting rid of the resonator on a is300 etc. will make you loose up to 5 HP. You get what you pay for so dont make regrets later on.

if u have anymore questions feel free to PM me or im me on aim

I have never heard one person say that one header performs better than the other. Purely speculation.

Sorry you guy’s im not familiar with your terms what do you mean by resonator and silencer the only way I understand what parts your are referring to is the language Lexus uses such as exhaust manifold = headers, TWC = cats, font exhaust pipe = down pipe, I believe, then the canter exhaust pipe which contains what you call the resonator, to my best knowledge, then the tail pipe , please help me with this

You are correct about your pipe locations/properties, and there is a resonator on this setup, whoever assumed there wasn't was doing just that.

The silencer is a plug that basically goes into the muffler to baffle the sound made by the exhaust. Removing it, some believe, will increase performance but I do not see it with this setup. What I do see is more noise.

I can attest to the performance on my vehicle and can also say that I am impressed. I have yet to take the system off of the car.

Someone else stated on this forum that there really isn't an exhaust out there for the is that sounds ricey and from the 10 or so that I have heard, I believe this to be true.

This exhaust does not sound ricey to me at all.

which exhaust.....the mega racepipe is just a Y pipe that connects the headers with the exhuast.

Right on, I think I was just enlightened; the silencer is that cone that you can put in, or take out of the end pipe of the tail pipe " exit" of the exhaust system. And the resonator is the expansion chamber in the center exhaust pipe, which is to cause the sound waves from the engine to bounce back towards the engine causing resonance in the gasses. Intern, means less noise and a constant exhaust tone without nodes and antinodes.
