Hello everyone. Welcome to derek's tech tip, weekend edition. Underhood temp issues. Now for those who have added a cold air intake and headers are losing power because the ambiant air under your hood is alot higher. I mean alot higher. So basicly you are sucking hot air from the unshielded headers into your "cold" air intake. You are actualy losing power. Under the hood of my turbo'd motor the ambiant air is 254 degree's. Hella hot. Simple fix. Take the air in take from your stock intake apart. Put the wide intake back on over top of your radiator. Twist your cold air intake towards (if possible) the stock air intake. It dropped the air temp under the hood of my car 40 degrees. There is a huge difference in performance.

Thats why, we here at lextasy understand the importance of cold air, thus gaining much more horsepower than and INJEN ,AEM or EVEN SRT(well almost), because we utilize the stock airbox designed coupled with a high performance filter and a straight carbon fiber intake.
