Loss of low RPM torque with Greddy EVO2's on GS400

Hi everyone! This is my first post here... Last week I got Greddy EVO2 dual catbacks installed on a 2000 GS400. I got good and not-so-good news.

Good news: the EVOs look fantastic, I love those 115mm tips. The clearance is still very good despite 1" drop in the car, in fact, I think I even gained some extra clearance. The sound is also perfect, a bit too loud at low RPMs, but real nice at higher RPMs; it's very consistent, no bumblebee or bramble, or drone effects at all. I also observed a noticable power increase at 2500+ RPMs.

Bad news: significant loss of torque at low RPMs. The car feels too slow taking off from 0mph, having me to press the pedal deeper to accelerate at same rate as I used to before. With summer tires it used to spin wheels all the time, but now it almost never happens even when I want to.
I assume this is due to a decrease in back pressure, but I didn't think it would be this much... I am at the point where I am actually thinking of putting the original exhausts back, unless I can somehow compensate for the loss.

Has anyone had similar symptoms? I plan on installing a SRT intake (or a K&N so I don't have to deal with chip modification) - would that help me re-gain at least some of the low RPM torque?
