My wife and I just purchased a 1998 GS300, white on black, and have loved it! We did run into two issues though. First, when I took it home and tried to lock the door on the key fob, the driver side door wouldn't lock! I got back inside to see what it was doing and it sounds and looks like it's trying to move the lock and it gets half way and stops. All of the other doors lock just fine. Any ideas what this might be? Every once in a while, it'll lock all the way but most of the time now I'll just move the lock over manually and then hit the key fob for the rest of the doors. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The other issue that I ran into are the brakes... I have to push the break pedal really far before it engages. Is this normal? There's no squeaking or anything and if I pump the breaks a couple of times, it engages much sooner. I don't need new breaks do I? We've checked the brake fluid and it's full. Again, thanks for the help in advance.

hmm about the door im not really sure what it could be is there anything logged in it??

about the brakes i believe thats how they are its the same as mine and if its not making sqeekin then it shouldnt be the brakes, im pretty sure thats how they are..and i just got new brakes too.so dont worry about your brakes as long as there are no sqeeks it should be fine but if your still worryed about it just take it somewhere and get it checked its cheap

Thanks for the reply. Does anyone think that it could be that the brake lines have expanded? I was checking out some of the parts on this site and have found some steel break lines for when they expand over time. Thoughts anyone?

Re the door lock problem, we just went through that on my wife's '02 GS300. The ft passenger door had that problem for some time. A local mechanic replaced the lock harness in the door. He made it sound like the part is poorly engineered. He charged $400. If another one fails it will stay broken.
