NOT!

When you get it "up" and running, please PM me.

I would very much like to see how the remote starter works.

Thanks! icon_biggrin.gif

you are telling me that you can't see the website? or you can't see the video? if you can't see the video, there maybe 2 things, 1: maybe you need to update your windows media player (player 9), 2: you have to wait until it loads the whole clip, we didn't make it stream, so you can't watch part of it while it is downloading, but no worries, we are changing it to stream. icon_biggrin.gif

I had a problem visiting the site, but it seems to be working now.

I have a few questions regarding the remote starter:

1. Does the factory alarm still have all of its functions when remote started? Auto-arm, key-less entry...etc.

2. Will I be able to disable (turn off) the engine with the remote.

3. I have an auto, but is it compatible with a manual?

Thanks! icon_biggrin.gif

Hey Draigon.

1.Yes factory alarm still works for me, keyless entry, open trunk, everything.

2. Yes, you can turn off the engine w/ the key by pressing it again.

3. It's compatible but at Luxury they wont do it, u can buy the system from them. But like i was talking to them about when my install was going on, my friend had a remote starter on his Stick MR2, and at school it got clicked off the sensor or whatever, he was messing with it, and it was in gear and it rear ended cars, going back and forth, so its not safe for a manual.

ML'SC4.3,

This is from IS300.net and I would like to know if this is the same system, if not does your remote starter have these downfalls?

I just recently met another .net member (tsopranoMB) that showed me his remote start.

He actually has the RS feature integrated into his stock key. He uses a sequence to activate the RS. He managed to maintain all normal functions of the key along with the RS sequence....

Now, Ive spoken to an alarm installer and he told me that it can be done but:
1) I would lose keyless entry
2) I would have poor range with the remotes
3) I would lose one of my main keys

Im not too sure about having a key in the car, thus killing the immobilizer that the car comes with(not too big, he said he can add an immobilizer in there). Can someone offer some insight on this subject, I wanna maintain stock functions of the remote yet throw a sequence in there for the RS.

It can be done and the sequence is normally something like 3 pushes of the lock button in 5 seconds activates the remote start. You well need to interface the factory transponder, but this in no way disables the transponder setup. You can lose a key, but why? Blanks are available as well as a keyless transponder interface. With either of these you simply teach the car the new transponder(blank or keyless unit) and thats it.

The range is limited to that of your factory remotes now, which is 50-100 feet. A far cry from the 1000' range of aftermarket systems.

Keyless entry will NOT work only when the car is remote started! It will still function when the ignition is not on though. The reason for this is the factory designed system. Test it yourself! Start your car with the key, now press any button on the remote, nothing happens! The system does not work with the ignition on thus when the car is remote started you will not have those features of the factory key fob.

In all honesty I would simply add a system and be done. The new system will give you range that is needed for remote starts, it will allow the keyless
entry to work while the car is running, and is not really anymore than the other system you are looking at.

I'm very interested in purchasing this Remote starter as long as it works well and doesn't lose any of the factory alarm functions.

Any answers will be appreciated. icon_biggrin.gif

I just came back from getting my 30k service, and it feels like driving a new car.

The owner is Steve Larkin, who has 13 years of experience working on lexus automobiles. His shop is ASE certified and he is a Lexus Certified Master Technican (he has the documents to prove them). The waiting room has comfortable leather couches, lots of magazines, jars filled with candy (snickers, milky way... ), and a refrigerator loaded with all kinds of sodas. There's is also a TV.

Service was great. You can watch your car as it is being worked on, which is real important to me because who knows what goes on behind the walls at the dealer. Steve knows alot and is very easy to talk to. I feel alot safer knowing that my car is in the hands of a qualified mechanic that i can actually talk to. He uses all the same fluids and parts that Lexus does. The job was done completely and in a timely manner. You have all the customer satisfaction and quality of Lexus service, but not at dealership prices. They even wash your car after the service. Longo quoted me over $300 for the 30K service. Luxury Motorworks charges 225$ and that's including tax and everything.

I also saw the remote start they were working on for the IS. It is absolutely amazing. Press the lock button on your factory key three times and the engine starts. Plus you don't lose any functions. Even after the remote start, the trunk button and keyless entry still worked.

Mike's SC, was real cool too. He had the remote start, dvd-nav, and strobe lights. I hope they get their stuff developed soon, because i can't wait.

I am definitely taking my car back there for my services and for that remote start. This is a great place to get your mods done right.
