SC400 water leaking into back seat

Help! 95 SC400.. Whenever it rains, water collects under my back seat. I assume this is fairly common because I first discovered it after the stereo shorted out - wet wires. I found the solution to that problem online from a stereo repair site but it neglected to talk about the underlying prob - how the water gets there in the 1st place. I can't see where it's coming from so I assume it's coming from behind the back seat. by the way, car was rear-ended

in its previous life. thanks

Have the door cards been taken off at all? There is a plastic sheet covering the door which should be stuck down (COMPLETELY stuck down) all round it. If there is a gap or it is unstuck then water goes down the small gap between the window and the door and collects in the rear footwells under the carpets. This is more common that the car leaking from anywhere else. If it isn't this, the chances are it is either the window join around the rear window or (if you have one) a blocked or disconnected drain from the sunroof.

Over here in the UK, we're pretty experienced in water problems!!!!

Whe I first bought my SC400 (1992), the drivers side door did not shut correctly. I had to replace the door hinge. When I did that, the door sealed properly and my water problems ceased.
