Im looking at turboing my is300. I dont want to build the internals. I just want something to add bout 50-80hp. So from your guys knowledge what would be a good turbo to run on a stock block is300?

I have been looking into the SRT turbo kits!! They seem to be the most reliable and i havent heard anything bad about them. THey are a little expensive but you have to remember you get what you pay for

i have found it has alot to do with where your engine is right now. is it built or do you plan on just gettin a bolt on turbo kit. if you are going with a bolt on kit i would really recommend turbonetics, it will give you an easy 100 hp at the wheel and only takes about 12 to 18 hours to install based on your skill level! the bad part is they go for around 5300.. ouch. when properly set up with fuel ratio and timing, as well as air flow and exhaust a turbo doesnt even decrease the life of your engine, it just helps it unlock its potential! icon_cool.gif

if u love power and speed, turbocharging is the best choice, there are several companies, like toyomoto, turbonetics, srt, pfs, and turboeast. i have a turboeast kit and am extremly happy with it ,i make 558hp @20psi, and drive it every day. amazing sound when the external wastegate opens, it turns heads everywhere. go turbo and u wont reget it.as for ur question, boost is addictive,if u wanna keep it simple, find used pistons and rods, from a supra turbo, then turbo it, it will be reliable that way,if u just bolt on a kit,ur risking issues, becuz of stock high compression.[/b]

you should be fine with the stock internals... the 2jz is good for about 800hp, but if you want to be positively sure or if you've got higher miles switch out the rods/pistons... especially if you're planning to push 20psi... I've got a supercharger on mine pushing about 350 to the ground without the NOS and i'm good...

yea.. iv been looking into IS 300 for a while.. a buddy of mine said that with stock parts nothing done except pistons. you can only push 8psi before you might find a problem with the rear differential is this true? whats my best psi push with stock internals?

thx

i'm fine with my supercharger... i don't know exactly what psi i push but i'd say i'm close to 10-15 and I don't have a problem..
