I have a Lexus IS 350 with the NAV/ DVD system. I also have the Mark Levinson system. I was wondering if there is a hack to play the DVD while the car is driving. Does anyone have any kind of information on how to make that happen?
I clicked on the link that you mentioned and the website asks for my fcc id number or something. How the heck do I follow that link. My number was not recognized and I'm already a member of that site. I'm confused. Thanks for the help.

hi, i just got my is350 about a month and a half ago, but want to make it faster. i decided i'd go with a turbo charger but i'm not sure if their even out yet. i was hoping someone could let me know where and how could i get one. thanx..
ps. i didnt even know the is could play dvds. -.-;

Ok The FCC id is on the back of your key fob....

Your NAV only plays DVD's if you have the ML and to watch while driving you have to do this hack
it's only about disabling VDIM. unless that's the only way to do it? but nobody mentions anything...
i'm looking to disable the motion sensor at least so i can program the GPS and whatnot while driving - playing a DVD isn't a priority to me, but if it is easy enough, i'd do that too
dont know much about lexus navs but i have installed several JVC/ALPINE dvd/nav systems in the past, and one wire that i would always skip connecting was a single wire that they want you to tap onto the hot wire of the parking/emergency brakes switch that usually triggers the "BRAKES" or "( ! )" warning light in your dash. this wire, when not hot, allows the dvd to play even while your driving......but like i said, i dont know if lexus navs use that same principle as far as connections...you can check if there is a third wire connected to that warning light switch...but i would be reluctant to start disassembling center console panels and parts of my new lexus..........besides, you cant enjoy a good movie while driving, anyway....not to mention diverting your attention from the road.
FYI: i have done this since then and it works good. i was a little quick in the mod and internally it could "look" better, but dvds and the telephone/etc. all work while driving, and then with the soft hack for the GPS override, the rest of everything works too.
