People on all sorts of IS boards have been talking about how they don't like the oem iPod cords and lack of mounts, but no pics are ever posted of what they are changing. My IS350 will be here in a week and I would love to see what you guys/gals are doing with this.

not that it helps much, but i just use a straight 1/8" (or 1/4", whatever) audio jack from the ipod headphone jack to the aux port in the center console.

works good, and i can use an ipod power adapter if needed as well.

the only thing that sucks is the car has no control over it, so if the phone rings or anything interrupts music, the ipod keeps playing in the background - and there's no way to use the car controls (at the current time) to control it.

i think the guy at the dealership told me they might be making an ipod addon - but he might have been talking maybe 2007 models. dunno.

(btw i have an is350 w/ ML+sport)

with the cupholder cover closed, i put my ipod right on top, while the wire is a little squished under the center console cover tiny gap. any generic aux cable that's not too thick should be ok to fit through even with the console slid shut. if your wire seems to keep the console cover from locking/ clicking, then just dont force it.

the only flaw that i see in the console design is that there's no gap opening for the aux wire to pass through, out of the console(simply because the only way you can control your ipod, except vol, is directly on the click wheel, so you need it out of the console), and the other flaw is the power outlet in the console; for example, my car adapter to charge my ipod won't let the console cover flip down. there's just not enough clearance.

hey, i went to best buy and bought the smallest charger possible, and it fits. also, i just let the cables come through the front of the console, they just squeeze under the lid. its really quite simple.

if you get this, you can control your ipod via the nav interface and steering wheel.

sooooooo much better than using the AUX hookup.

I plug in the cable, connect my iPod, power it on, click play, but I cannot select the AUX mode on the audio system. I've tried hitting the Disk/Aux button, clicking it and holding it, using the mode button on the steering wheel, even removing all of the disks, but I can't get to AUX to hear the iPod. I don't want to go to the dealer if its something stupid, which I would expect to find in the manual. I did RTFM, but they just say to use the mode button.

I'd appreciate a head's up if anyone has any ideas, thanks!
