"Shift program upgrade"

Can anyone give me a little more info....

I drive an "02 es300" and at times if feels like the car is sluggish and may even stall at the beginning of a rapid acceleration.

What is a "shift upgrade"? Is it considered defect and a warranty issue?

If not, what does it cost to be done?

Any and all help is appreciated !!!!

I don't know about on the 02 models ... I have an 05 es330 and the mod is an enhancement to the cpu. It will give you more horsepower as I was told. They were going to do mine for free at the dealer. Problem is there are draw backs... Yes you get horsepower and better resp time. But, it comes at a cost. You will be forced to only run the car with Premium Gasoline all the time and your MPG will be worse then it is now. If your into the speed and racing around it's the way to go... I like the extra cash in my pocket with the cost of gas these days. One other thing to know if you are going to do it... They say that once the mod is completed you can not reverse the change so just make sure if it is an option to you that you understand this...
