its pretty fun cuase its rear wheel. its got a beast of a rev limiter on there stock. stock tires blow too they wear out fast. but after some mods and some kind limtier removal either thru a chip or afc i think it becomes alot more fun. nedless to say its very nice inside and gives u a good ego boost. defintley fun to drive tho. jsut dont be a pussy about it.

chips are good but what kind of chip is best for my 02 is300?? I love performance mods but until now have never had anything really worth tuning....in my life my cars where 4 geo metros back when i was 17-19yrs old and a 93 saturn sc2 a 94 saturn sc2 a 90 potiac bonneville a 96 suburban and a 96 mucury sable so to say I love my car more than anything is a major understatement...lol I want some real knowledgeable advise on how to make it sweeter..thanks

I autocross my 01 IS300 and I have almost everything you can put on the car with out doing a motor swap or complete tear down and rebuild. I am a big fan of Grand Am cup racing so almost everything on my car is on the Team Lexus IS (other than the supercharger) even the BBS wheels that the run on theres I have on mine. For more good parts for the IS go to www.prolexperformance.com OR www.l-tunedparts.com or www.i-m-racing.com These are the sites that I got most of my performance products (My IS was pushing just over 400bhp with just simple mods and supercharger)

as of right now there are true performance chips for our cars. The ones you see on ebay are a scam and do absolutly nothing. Best way to get performance with minimal cost is to start with intake and exhaust.

As for the rev limiter or governer, i dont think you would want to take it off even if you could find a way to, for fear of going through motors like tires. Stock our cars are governed at 144mph which is pletty quick, and is practicly red lined.

I've always wondered where that govenor was. 140 is all I've been able to make due limited space (ie. turns) I was starting to think there wasn't one on these cars. My last car '98 Mustang was governed at 110, it was quick to get up there but I could never really open it up.
