Recently bought the akimoto intake from lextasy, looks flawless and very very clean. I opened it up and looked at the directions for notes, and realized that the top of it said 93-95 or 96.....at the lextasy store it says 97-00....i said no big deal.

Next day i'm determined to put it on. Let the engine cool for a little bit, take the air box out, disconnect everything, and attach the piping to the throttle body. Looked in the box for a piece that connects the air mass sensor to the intake pipe and no luck, i realize that this does not fit my car correctly. So being as stubborn as i am, i went and bought a titanium drill bit, drilled the HUGE hole that i needed to insert the sensor, and inserted it. The entire installation time took about an hour. I made sure to seal any gaps on the piping around the sensor with silicone gel to prevent any quirks.

There was no piece for the sensor, there was no piece that i could take off the stock intake system to retrofit anything together, so i drilled a hole.

Performance wise this was a good buy, sounds badass and i get better throttle response, and actually have noticed better gas mileage. Overall a good buy, but deffinatly not worth the $270.

Cool, thanks for letting us know, I was thinking about buying it for my 97, even though I don't have a problem with a little modification, I'm not gonna spend $270 or whatever and have to do all my own work too, thanks.
