My LS has started to stall when stopped at traffic lights'n'such. Tranny in Drive. Foot on brake. I took it to my non-Lexus garage today. The fault didn't repeat itself for them and they could not find any potential cause for the problem. Naturally enough, five minutes after leaving the garage, the car "cut out" again... . Thankfully, there are no problems while the car is in motion. This problem never arose with my 91 LS.

Try cleaning the ...I call it the "throttle body", but it's not, the throttle plate, where the air goes into the engine.
Take the intake hose off, get some carb cleaner and a tooth brush. Carefully clean the intake and throttle plate with the cleaner saturated tooth brush, then wipe them off with a rag. Don't spray a bunch of cleaner into the intake...not good. Just use the brush and clean rag.
This may not solve the problem, but it certainly won't hurt.
Crap gets built up in there and will effect the way it idles and cause stalling.
