Hey guys this Saturday I am going to check out a couple of SC300's, A few of them are high mileage I was wondering to do a 2jz-gte swap what would I need to change specifically and is it harder on a SC

Or should I go with a low mileage SC and just install a Turbo kit

Tnx
Greg

this is my rideiwish i knew more about sc before i bought mine. if i were you i would buy the one with the higher mileage...and swap a 2jzgtte from a soarer....i think to put the turbo you going to need to chage some timing and what not so i thinkif you can spend the money just get the whole package so you wont have to worry when the engine will blow or whatever. as long as you get the ecu with the soarer i think you will be ok.....but for the turbo you got to be careful cause you may blow some stuff up....or try to get it done profesionally.

Cheapest and easiest swap is to get a front clip from a soarer 1jzgte. If you've got the dough, go for a tt supra front clip. Both set ups are pretty much bolt up with a few exceptions. I think you'll get yourself in trouble if you just buy a 2jzgte motor and try to drop it in your sc because there are gonna be a ton of other parts you're gonna have to source or buy from the stealership.

If your getting an SC300, That engine is inline with the supra engine...If you want a 2jz, just throw on 2 turbos, if you want a 1jz throw on 1 turbo...The engine is exactly the same...The IS300 comes with the same engine, the only difference between the cars is the weight and style..Lexus is made for high class comfort...Its heavy, it comes with leather and the whole kit n caboodle...As the supra comes sporty and already lighter than the lexus's, made for the streets to rip up. The SC300's engines are MADE to last...An SC can last WAY more than 250,000 throwing on a turbo or two on a high mileage SC isnt bad at all, it will last you a looong time..

Lady...you fucking dunce.

"If you want a 2jz, just throw on 2 turbos, if you want a 1jz throw on 1 turbo."

Are you retarded? The numbers dont have anything to do with the amount of turbos.

The 1jz is a 2.5L TWIN TURBO and the 2jz is a 3.0L TWIN TURBO.

So if you only threw one turbo on a 2jz. you would have a SINGLE TURBO 2jz. You should make sure your shit is right before you open your mouth. Does your husband or boyfriend know you are online talking about cars and not making him dinner?

(yes I am aware that this thread is old, but I couldn't let this trout get away with this retarded mistake)
