Okay, I've got a couple of ideas for what I might want to do to my GS, but I'd like some advice/feedback.
First off I'd like to get a nav system, lcd, all that. The Kenwood seems to look really good in the double-din setup. If anyone has anything better, suggestions are greatly appreciated. I already have XM radio, I'm not even sure if the Kenwood would work well with it, I know Kenwood supports Sirius. Then I'd have to replace the cd changer in the glove compartment with a different one, unless it would work through something else. I also need a custom enclosure for two Hart 10's and a 300W Hart amp in my trunk. Where could I find a custom enclosure or someone trusted who could do it anywhere near Columbia, South Carolina?

Have you seen the Pioneer AVIC-D1? It has the XM real-time traffic info to navigate around construction, traffic, etc.

Pic here: http://www.f150online.com/forums/archive/topic/182589-1.html

I'm thinking abut it. SHould a double-din head fit in my 2000 GS300 without any problem?

I wonder if it will work with my factory 6 disc changer?

Thats a pretty flat screen but it all depends on how much money you have to blow....... icon_eek.gif

Well the amount of money I have to blow all depends on what I'm using it for...I'm actually not sure now I'd want to do it. I wouldn't want to cut any of the factory wires, and all new wiring, etc...eh, it'd be one helluva bitch. I'm back to looking for a factory nav system, for now. And I've found someone to do a custom enclosure, possibly even wrapped in leather to match my interior. We shall see. I'd work to pay a good amount for a nav system though...But apparently the whole setup is near impossible to come by.

That is a gorgeous head unit...and 30Gb HDD is incredible. Buuut, the cost of simply the head unit would break my bank, much less replacing all the wires, etc...

This is my setup. Pretty happy with it though I wish there were graphic visualizations while playing music, winamp/windows media player style.

Eclipse AVN 2454 head unit for about $2k when I got it, prolly less now with the built in HD model available.

I was researching the Pioneer and came upon this page. It looks sweet in the dash, like it was always there. My question was if you have the Ipod connected to the Pioneer and if there are other options for mounting it.

Where can you get a double din kit that will fit my gs400? The only one's I can find have the storage unit and I have been hasled and told different things about installing an aftermarket navigation system. One salesman said they could customize it, then the tech said no way we can install it just looking at my stock stereo. My bad on not noticing that that was an eclipse, not the pioneer. How did you mount that? Was it custom fitted?
