How do I remove housings for an IS 300 ? I want to make my fog lights white. I know one of them ways is to use a heat gun but can you please give me more details on how to do it ? And can I do it without a heat gun ?[b]

It is very difficult to remove the yellow ring but if you cannot afford to buy the JDM version you can heat it in an oven to 250° and sepparate (the easiest way). Then remove the screws holding the yellow glass ring.

The other way is too purchase the jdm version from japan that already come white.

Put it in for 10 minutes and check often to see if it will seperate.

Once seperated you will see easily how the yellow glass is removed from the fog lights.

Yes you put the entire fog light in the oven.

to put it back together you must put them back in the oven pushed back together for a couple minutes.

Take it out of the oven and push it back together very hard and wait till it dries/hardens(the glue).

No need to add extra glue.

If its an Is300 fog light, all you'll need is a flat head screw driver to slightly separate it, then take over with your hands.

The fog lights are clear. The bulbs determine the color of the lighting

Are the foglights that are on the lextasy site, compatible to be connected to a '04 is300? I was surfing yesterday for H.I.D color foglight bulbs and one site said '04 lexus has a H4 type bulb and 01-03 has 9006 type bulbs.

If they have different bulb types, are the bulb connections then compatible????? icon_neutral.gif

I JUST did this trick... WORKED AWESOME! I just threw a coat of black over the chrome housing (match the body)... but my dilemma is - how do you get the damn yellow off the lens? I have the lens in my hand, and can't for the life of me figure it out... if i do, i'll re-post, but any ideas? i know it isn't solid yellow, since i can see through it clear at some angles... so there has got to be a trick. please help!
