Hello. I had a problem with my tein flex that was killing me. I drive an 02 IS 300 5speed and use it for drift and auto-cross (Night time races in the hills as well). The Tein was getting worse and worse with bottoming out and the car pushing on hard turns. after adjusting 5 times and talks with tein,,,,screw it
Let me just cut to the chase, I had a problem with tein and here is the fix you might need to make as well.
The first thing he tells me is "I think they made in error in the print of the Adjustment of ride height" he then said "when it gets traslated from japanese to english the reference values are not in the right order" he said that because of how I drive it I noticed it. Most people set it as close as possiable and are fine. they dont trash a IS 300 like I do.
In print they values read A,B,C,D
The values should be adjusted as follows B,C,A,D
B is the most important. It is the travel of the shock. You have a inch either way.
C is the ride height when you use the correct "travel" in the shock.
D is the end result of B from a different point of measure. Just a dubble check if you will thing.
A is tricky. it is the spring rate. It will change the ride height also.
Dont adjust a before C. You will not get the correct spring rate. If you want stronger springs. Shell out some doe and buy some...(he said that)
He said that he reads Japanese and that is the order and the order they use for the sponserd cars.
If you want the car low than 90mm either go No more than an inch less in B and use C But you must install (in Steves words) "correctly" and never use A for height.
After the fix The lex is a Beast . Night and day difference.Give It a shot. IM sure most of you "Followed the directions" also.
Good Luck
