How to install your Carbon Fiber Hood (GS400)

This is an install of a GS430 Carbon fiber hood but is pretty much the same as the IS300 hood.

Start out by drilling the .25" holes out for your studs to go thru.

Then you will take a file or dremmel to open op the hole for your windsheild washer nozzels.

This specific hood was pretty tight in the corners of the grille so instead of drill the hood to make way for the grille, we notched the back of the grille so it would fit flush. (overall this hood fit perfect).

Now you will get ready to remove the shocks first 12mm wrench ( must be a crecent wrench)trust me we tried everything.

Now you can take the two 12mm bolts off each side with a socket wrench. You will need two people to do this so you can carry the hood off being carefull not to scatch your car or hood. Your Grille and latch should already be removed. We didn't reuse the latch because the manufacturer did not include mounts for the safety latch!

When tighten the 4 bolts make sure to pull the hood firmly to the front of the car before tightening all 4 bolts or the hood will not lock down!

and then your done! 100 pounds lighter....
