I have a friend who changed his lights and they started smoking. could this happen to me? Your friend may have put a bulb with the wrong wattage rating (probably too low). So just pull out the bulb that is in there now, got to Auto Zone or Advanced Auto Parts or where ever you choose, and get the exact same bulb. Then you'll be fine.
