Have an 06 GS300 RWD. Big snow on Saturday and I got stuck before I could get out of the neighborhood. I know I have to do someting. The question is for anyone that can differentiate how much the blizzak type tires help. The stock tires were useless and I am hoping that the snow tires can make the car worth keeping. I know I would have kept moving in a front wheel drive let alone a AWD. I love the car but can't put up with a car that is stationary in the winter.

Thanks for any info.

i have a 2000 GS400 with Blizzak snows. Last winter in Denver we started with 2 feet on 12/21 and added 1 ft a week for 4 weeks. Our street was only one lane for months. I am able to get thru anytime I want to go as long as the snow is lower than the front airdam. I used to have a 1990 LS that also would get thru the snow as long as I had Blizzaks on all 4 wheels.

I was lucky enough to get a second set of wheels and some winter tires a few years back when I purchased my car used for New England winters. The orginal Michelin Alpin(s) were a drastic improvement on my 2000 GS300 from the summer tires. I have replaced 2 with Yokohama Ice Guard(s) after losing one to a road hazzard. I have had a problem on my hill without them and with both sets ice and snow are not a problem. Only problem I have had is they are all rotational so only can go front to back on the same side, this improves traction but my now extra (spare winter) tire can only go on one side to be effective.
