iPod Kensington Digital FM Transmitter - Help!

I just bought my dad the Kensington Digital FM transmitter for his iPod in the ES330. Unfortunately, the "dead" stations that we were able to find to transmit his iPod songs were too static-y in the Los Angeles area. On the Apple discussion forum, I was told that I needed to use the "manual" scan for the radio so that I could select a radio channel myself, without having it jump automatically to the next strongest signal, which is the default setting with the Auto scan feature.

Does anyone know how to disable the "auto" scan on the radio or if this is possible? I'd hate to have to return it considering it got such great reviews.

Try pressing the up or down button fast. I think it should recognize you want a specific frequency and not a strong station.

Wow, you sure are missing out on alot my friend. I live in downtown San Diego and travel frequently to LA and the problem you have is very real but easily avoidable. You can get a "direct connect adapter" basically what that means is that you plug a wire into the back of your stock stereo system and let it hang in your ash tray or glove compartment or whatever. Not only does it charge your ipod while you listen it also has cd quality sound and allows you to control songs from the stock stereo system and even steering wheel buttons if you have them. I got mine at www.neocaraudio.com If you get on google video you can watch installation videos, comparison videos, and other stuff if you can find them. Good luck in LA my friend
