Lexus IS300, How to install aftermarket deck ?

Hey , ive got a 2001 lexus is300, and me en my friend were trying to install an aftermarket deck i got , but ran into troubles.

Can anyone plz tell me where the Factory AMP is exactly located, because i learned that i need to by-pass the harness through the amp ryte. . i saw this thing under the dash that looks like an amp, but dont know , (the wire harness dont fit anywhere)

Also if i could know what type / model # of Wiring HARNESS i need, becuase this store gave me one for TOyota 87+ harness , but it dont seem like its ryte,

You want to have the wire harness for your factory amp.

eBay sells one for the 2001+ is300

I have a 2002 is300 and I've run into the same problem.
We wired around my factory amp and ran into rear speaker wire issues.

Your factory amp is located where your glove box is.
Pull out your glove box, look to the right (inside area) and that big silver box is your amp.

If you wire around the factory amp, and keep your rear factory speakers, you will have to get (two) resistors for each side of (the other side of) your factory amp in order for them to still work....because they want to run at a low Ohm......My suggestion......Go to eBay and get the JBL wire harness that you need (its like $89.99 plus shipping is like $9.99 unless you wanna pay more for 2nd day shipping or next day) and just route that to your factory amp from your deck/head unit you are installing.

That's what i'm waiting to do.
That factory amp is a pain in the @$$
