I've got a 92 sc300 and I put a 800watt amp powering a 400watt sub in it. Starting then I began experiencing power issues (fading lights, etc). I blew the sub and disconnected the amp, but the power issues are still there and now if I don't warm the car up like 5-10 mins minimum, there are power flucuations and sometimes the whole care just dies for a second. All the power just blinks off then comes back on. Is this an alternator problem or a battery or what?? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Sounds like a bad battery probably. Using an 800watt amp to power a 400watt sub is alot of power IMO, which is why you blew that sub. Unless you had all settings low perhaps.
An easy way to check the alternator is by turning the ignition on, and then take the negative cable off of the battery terminal. If the car shuts off you have a problem with your alternator not recharging/running the car, if it stays on, then you may have a battery problem. Maybe your battery is still holding a charge but it may be on its way out. You can take it to your local Autozone to have the battery charge tested.
Try checking random fuses/wires to see if anythings loose/blown and drawing excess power.

Other than starting your vehicle, batteries also cushion surges in your electrical system. They are like shocks. If your battery is done, or on its way out your could experience problems like you are.
