anyone in/near Metairie, LA? $300 in your pocket

Someone on the forum recommended I post this regarding someone who ripped me off for $600 2 days ago via eBay. Money Order made out to:

Mike Kwan
3109 Ridgeway Drive
Metairie, LA 70002

I sent him a postal Money order for $600 for a new cell phone (Sprint PCS Treo 700) and a Viper 791 alarm.

He received it Wed, he emailed me to let me know.. He hasn't responded again, his ebay ID and email are not working now.

By reviewing his ebay info (past sales and purchases), he may drive a Lexus IS300 ... wears about a size 29 jean, sells lots of Treo 700's, Viper Alarms, Toshiba laptops (may be stolen he may work at an area electronics store in/near Metairie, LA. (probably Best Buy or Frys Electronics, etc. someone who sells Viper I'm guessing)... everyone else got their stuff sending Money orders, just not me. lol

I know its a long-shot, but anyone may have an idea on how to help me out. I'm willing to cover any expenses you may have if you think you can get a roust out of him.

If he's got tons of feedback, I wouldn't worry. Maybe his computer died. It does happen.

Either way you learned a good lesson to never send money orders unless they are a credible company. Even then I still go with paypal or credit card.

I don't think if your computer crashed, your ebay ID would say "no longer a registered user".. and the email address would still receive email (not ping back undeliverable)... I emailed 3 people that have sent him MO's for the same item, they didn't have a problem, 51 feedback @ 100% positive. HE wouldn't accept paypal, os I knew I was taking a risk. Its only $600, but I'll see if I can get it recovered somehow.

I've Got the same problem, sent him $185 for a viper alarm and never ssent it, he pulled out of ebay recived the money and never sent it. If anyone can help email me @ nerfsnake@hotmail.com. Thanks

its actually getting better. I have a friend on the zx10r.net site and he happens to be a LEO with New Orleans PD. He's called the numbers that belong to that address, and verified he DOES live there (one shipping address was a hotel)... He's called someone in Jefferson Parish (where he lives) and has them looking into it further.

He told me this will be good press for the cops in the area, and because its eBay and he's ripped off like 15+ people for over $5000 in goods, that they won't let it go. The DA in Jefferson Parish is also looking for any other info that could assist, so if you have it, contact them at:
